Johnnie gets evicted

After 63 days in the BB house, Johnnie walks out the gates to freedom and a cheering crowd
Johnnie gets evicted from the Big brother house

Big brother fans dubbed him 'Johnnie Rotten' to other people he was the 'gay guy'.  But one thing is sure Johnnie, the 30 year old personal trainer from Sydney is now the most out person in Australia.

Johnnie has shot to stardom in the gay world since entering the reality TV show Big Brother. And gay Australia tried very hard to keep him in the household.  Publications like B.News (Vic) ran a full colour back page ad appealing to readers to save Johnnie from eviction.  But it wasn't to be, the public decided the gay guy was history.  Johnnie polled 70 per cent of the viewer votes compared to 15% each to Sara-Marie and Ben.

Johnnie’s eviction left the Big Brother house stunningly quiet, and only sobs from the remaining housemates were heard for about ten minutes after his departure. Just as conversation had started to pick up (about Johnnie, of course, and his fantastic motivation and enthusiasm) the Sony plasma screen was brought in to deliver the traditional parting message from the evictee to the household.

Johnnie started his message by profusely thanking the housemates for “an awesome and unreal experience,” and by emphasising how special everyone in the house is. “There’s something about each and every one of you that is special to me and that I will always remember about you guys,” he explained before proceeding to dedicate a special message about each individual housemate.

Johnnie praised Bennie’s great sense of humour, saying “but more importantly than being a funny guy you are also a very intelligent and sensitive guy.” To Blair, he firstly remarks on the fact that they represent opposite ends of the spectrum, Blair being a young, country boy and a ladies’ man and him being the eldest and a city guy, but stresses that he felt they still found common ground. “Your friendship is something that I will always cherish,” he explained.

Before moving onto the girls of the house, Johnnie made an extra point to the guys: “You showed that it doesn’t matter about your sexual preferences, it doesn’t matter whether you’re Asian or Italian or straight or gay, we can get on and we have managed to show millions and millions of people that it’s a good thing that we all get on with each other, and that we are all equal.”

Johnnie burst out laughing at the mere mention of Sara-Marie’s name. “I love you, I just downright ****ing love you, you bit**!!!” He further explained that what makes Sara-Marie special is her craziness, adding that there’s a part of him that is very much like that too.

Johnnie described Chrissie as “the quiet achiever,” adding that the ballerina reminds him of his dad because “you may not have a great deal to say, but when you do say it everyone generally stops and listens.”

The Sydney-based fitness instructor saved his last message for Jemma, but took several takes to complete his message such was the emotion he felt. He correctly guessed on the video that she would also already be crying at this point.

Attempting to keep it short to avoid crying himself, Johnnie said “Jemma, I don’t know what it is about you and I, but for some reason we connected and in a nutshell I think you are a beautiful woman, and you’ve got great things ahead of you.”

After agreeing to meeting up with Blair on the outside so that he can find out whether Johnnie JB’d during his last week in the BB house, Johnnie ended a message with another version of the rap he composed in the house shortly after they all arrived:

Yo-yo-yo-yo-yo,  Johnnie’s left the house,
The Big Brother house
From 12 you’re down to five
I’m sorry to leave it all behind
Thanks for all the time
It’s been mighty fine
Be good to each other,
My sisters and brothers
Yo-yo-yo-yo-yo,  Johnnie’s left the house,
The Big Brother house...

“Guys, be good to each other, take care of each other and most important of all: have a fantastic time, it’s been great meeting you all!” were his last lines.

The housemates clapped, dried their tears and fell into yet another silence that lasted a few minutes, before Ben said “he’s a legend, that bloke,” and Sara-Marie and Jemma agreed they have never cried so much in their lives!

Johnnie was a leader and a caring father figure to all housemates, and a very tangible void now exists in the house which will somehow need to be filled. Jemma summed up the challenge the housemates will now have to face by saying “I think it would make [Johnnie] proud if we all kept all that motivation and understanding and stay strong.”
